Coronavirus (COVID-19) Infection Prevention & Control Policy For Hayley Jayne Beauty

All of us have been affected by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and the team at Hayley Jayne have missed being able to offer you the treatments that we know you love, we have missed all the chats, laughs and sharing our lives with you all.

Our priority is to keep you as safe as possible and prior to re-opening the salon we have implemented some changes which we would like to make you aware of.  During the time the salon has been shut, the whole team have completed the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Infection Prevention and Control course which is accredited by the Guild of Professional Beauty Therapists Ltd, the UK trade body for our industry.  The salon has had a full refurbishment and deep clean during the time we have been closed.  We have also since made a number of changes in the way that we operate that you will notice when you next visit.  We will be encouraging staff and client choice and common sense.

Salon opening hours and staff working hours will differ from the usual to limit the number of people in salon and ensure staff and client safety is maintained as much as possible.

Hayley has done her utmost to ensure that her staff and clients return to the salon they know and trust.

Booking Appointments

If any of our staff feel ill or have symptoms of COVID-19, they will self-isolate immediately and not come into the salon.  This may mean that we have to cancel your appointment at short notice.  We appreciate that this may be inconvenient but it is done entirely for your own safety.  If your appointment is cancelled you will be able to re-book again or ask for a full refund or voucher.

If you or any of the people you live with feel ill or display any symptoms of COVID-19.  Please advise us as soon as possible and DO NOT COME TO THE SALON FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT.  We have amended our booking terms and conditions and you will not be charged for any appointments which you miss due to illness/other.

Visiting the Salon

For your safety we ask that you attend your appointments as close to the appointment time as possible.

We have increased the frequency of cleaning in the salon including making sure that common surfaces , toilets,  door handles etc. are wiped clean using disinfectant products on a more than regular basis, also a full cleaning system has been implemented in salon following new staff protocols on returning to work.

All tools and equipment will be disinfected or sterilised in line with the specific manufacturer’s instructions for your safety. 

Wherever possible we will utilise environmentally friendly, single use items during a treatment that will be disposed of safely after use in order to protect you from cross infection.

You will have access to soap and hot water to wash your hands and paper towels to dry your hands with as soon as you enter the salon and we will also have automatic no touch hand sanitisers available for you in every room to use when you come into the salon.

We will understand and not be offended if you wish to wear a facemask or wear disposable gloves when you visit the salon and during your treatment, this is your choice. We will also be providing disposable facemasks at no extra charge.

Please don’t be surprised or upset if our staff, use personal protective equipment (PPE) during your visit and during your treatment, this is also each individual staff members choice.  This may include disposable gloves / facemasks / aprons / visors.

We can confirm that the laundering of salon towels and uniforms is a priority we can assure you that all salon laundry is washed at 60 degrees C.


We have carried out a risk assessment on all treatments and we are confident that we can continue to provide all treatments safely.

We understand the importance of hand hygiene as we always have and we will ensure that we wash our hands before the start of your treatment.

We will continue to make your treatment experience with us safe, comfortable and enjoyable, a chance to step into a calm environment, away from what is going on outside.

After the treatment

All of these procedures have been implemented for your safety and that of our staff.  We ask that you please consider yourself and our staff in any decisions you make while in the salon or prior to visiting us.  Please don’t take offence to anything that may be offered to you or anything new we may have to implement, it will always be done with careful consideration and with the best intentions of that of our clients and our staff.
